Happy Mother’s Day!
Today is a special occasion indeed, a celebration of what makes the world go round… moms! Do we not all owe more to our mothers than anyone else (whether you know your own or not)? Our mothers brought us into this world, toiled day by day to keep us alive and going, and provide comfort and moral support throughout one’s entire life. When a child is hurt or in need of comforting or advice, who is the first one he or she runs to? You guessed it. I have often thought that if the world were run primarily by responsible women who make good mothers or nurtures, we would all be better off.
I like to think that mothers don’t just include women who have had children of their own; in fact, we’ve all known wonderful women who at some time have served as a moral or guiding influence in the lives of one or many, whether they have their own children or not. In any case, we all owe so much appreciation and love to those who bear the sacred title of ‘mother,’ and we should all give them the honor and respect they so deserve.
