Today I realized that I have been running this site for over a year now without having written even one phrase about my most favorite cookie brand in the whole universe: Mrs. Fields.
If you are lucky enough to have a Mrs. Fields store near where you live, count yourself a fortunate person (this does NOT include the nasty, preserved microwaveable version sold in stores!). I grew up on these cookies, and at any moment when I could get my hands on them I enjoyed every molecule. I have been known to drive over an hour to get a batch, though with other (less important) errands in mind too of course! They are so good in fact that I might even consider them a personal substance addiction… if there was such thing as a Mrs. Fields dealer, rest assured he or she would be one of my cell phone contacts. For all we know, these cookies could be the cure for cancer. In any case they should never fail to bring a smile to your face.

A box of delicious awesomeness, straight from heaven!
Mrs. Fields even sells cookies by mail order, which taste surprisingly good considering the trip involved! Like most companies they sell a lot of flavors, but my love will always be for the classic chocolate chip cookie, in all its purest variations (milk chocolate, semi-sweet, fudge, etc.). Having said thise, I suppose I have always been a “one flavor fits all” kind of guy for lots of things, but I prefer things this way. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” as the old addage goes.
A couple years ago, however, the Mrs. Fields company went into bankruptcy, but this was reportedly supposed to facilitate a restructuring of the company so as to yield better economic performance in today’s battered economy. Thankfully in October of 2008 the brand came back with cookie sheets swinging, ready to fill the belly-based bread baskets of America.
The bottom line is, if you haven’t tried this brand of cookie, add it to your to-do list. You won’t be sorry!

As usual, an awesome and poignant post.
You are so funny. I love the line about Mrs. Field’s dealers being on your cell contact list…the funny thing is that is totally true!
My MS Fields cookie recipe is just as good!!
