Introducing my newest video game addiction: Rock Band!
This is an amazing video game for the XBOX 360, PS3, and even the Wii (with certain features limited). Up to five players at once can connect the provided instruments (bass guitar, drums, electric guitar, and up to two microphones) and start rockin’ away at tons of tunes! Color coded notes fly towards you on the screen and mimic the actual melodies used in the real songs. The appropriate colors and patterns must be matched by the player on the instrument, otherwise you could fail the song and have to endure the incessant boo’ing of the crowd! The vocalist must match the pitch and lyrics of the song; it really lets you see how well you know it!
Different levels of difficulty are available, getting progressively harder until it’s almost impossible to finish perfectly! It may all sound silly, and it’s hard to describe, but with the possibility of designing your own virtual band, downloading new songs, and jammin’ either by yourself or a whole group of friends, Rock Band makes you feel like you’re a part of the real thing! Think of it as karaoke with a higher entertainment purpose.
Granted I have been a little slow to catch on though since it has been available for a while, but I am not liable to be bored with it soon! The next time you get a chance, be sure not to pass up the opportunity to play this highly entertaining game.
