File System Wars

7 December 2011

For a class presentation I edited a fun little video depicting a humorous battle between Unix File System (UFS), hierarchical file system (HFS), and extensible file system (ext). UFS is depicted by Darth Vader, HFS by Emperor Palpatine/Steve Jobs, and ext by Luke Skywalker.

Unless you’re a computer person familiar with file systems it might not make a whole lot of sense or seem funny at all, but at the very least Emperor Steve is pretty hilarious.

La libertad de expresion total

7 May 2008

Have you ever noticed how the methods of and opportunity for communication, expression, speech, and writing are so limitless these days? It is amazing. Cell phones, chat rooms, text messages, multiplayer games, blogging, YouTube, word processors, other facets of the internet in general, everything… gone are the days when the ability to express oneself was limited to his or her immediate surroundings, notebook or newspaper editorial. In my opinion, these days the hardest thing to accomplish are tuly unique creativity and the ability to be noticed. This blog for instance is only one of millions, although it does have its own individual identity and purpose.

One may also notice how these days most media outlets have turned into sitcoms and soap operas spouting off whatever they can to get the ear of the masses and cash in on it. A prime example of this is the current situation with the democratic primary between Senators Clinton and Obama. All of the current candidates from both political parties have their pros and cons. I tend to lean towards the right myself, but I found the following video absolutely hilarious, especially being a Star Wars fan!

Take a look:

Freedom of speech at its best =).
